Professional Development Plan
I have learned that if you create a plan and follow it the end result is success, that is if it was well-thought, and properly executed. Since 2007 I have learned my prior statement is only half true. If you create goals or a plan according to someone else’s desires, or financial gain it will more than likely end in failure. I began this journey at Savannah State University in 2008 as a transfer student with no more credits than a second semester freshman. I had changed my major from nursing to business administration, and everyone ask me, why? I didn’t have an answer then and my agenda for the change he morphed from being a manger in the hospitality industry working at a large amusement such as Disney World, to working in the corporate level of a non-profit such as Make-A-wish foundation.
One day it just hit me, you enjoy what you do. Mentoring to students in college, helping them learn from their mistakes they will have to make to learn. I ultimately desire to end up in the role of president and vice president at an institution of higher learning, after obtaining both my Master and Doctorate degree.
My mentality is to push and drive for success as a child my parents made it very clear that success runs in our race and that it is up you as to how you will get there.
